Elder Silva and I are having a great time!  We walked around yesterday and talked with people about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ from when we left our apartment in the morning until our final curfew at 9:30pm and our voices were hoarse!  It felt so awesome!  We had several good discussions with people, cleared up a lot of false beliefs about the church, made some friends, and found several new investigators!  The coolest person we found was a guy who had left home,  job and family and moved from Los Angeles, CA to Aurora, CO because he felt God wanted him to be there.  “Coincidentally” Elder Silva is from LA too and so there was an instant bond of trust built!  After talking about the Book of Mormon and its relationship to the Bible, we exchanged phone numbers so we should be getting together soon for another lesson.  I have a good feeling about it.  This was one of many miracles we saw yesterday.

More about the area;  A member manages one of the McDonald’s in town so we eat free there whenever we want.  Bishop Jensen in the Palmer Divide ward loves art in all forms and actually already has tickets to go see “My Fair Lady”.  He has offered to have Aurora and I over for lunch when she is in town, but I think I need to check with the Mission President before we go ahead with that one.  He also remembers seeing Jeff in the Nauvoo Pageant and was very complimentary.

President and Sister Pfile are officially gone.  No contact with President and Sister Anderson yet, but we will be meeting them for the first time this Friday at our Zone interviews.  it is very exciting!

Miracles Story;

Last Friday Elder Silva and I decided to go and try to contact a potential investigator Elder DeCoria had left us.  We drove out to his house and knocked on his door only to find no one was home.  On the way back to the car we decided to go out of our way to ITL some people.  ITL proved unsuccessful, but then as we were getting back into the car, the PI’s (Potential Investigator) daughter pulled into the driveway.  We walked back over and had a good talk with her and found out that both she and her Dad were interested in meeting with us and taking the missionary lessons!  Good things happen when we ITL, in both direct and in-direct ways.  Good things!  (In case any of you are new to this “ITL” stands for “Invite To Learn” and is basically a street contact).

Excited to baptize more soon,

                   -Elder Emmett Florence
